Arts & Enrichment

Providing opportunities to deepen learning, expand creativity and challenge young minds.

Engaging Our Kids

A primary mission of the PFO is to create opportunities to further enrich the education received at Kaiser and Woodland. We do this by focusing volunteer efforts to fundraise and support our school libraries and music programs, by working with staff and teachers to identify areas for improving campus facilities and equipment, by creating school yearbooks to commemorate these special years, by funding entertaining and educational assemblies, by funding scholarships to Newport Harbor High School graduates who are also Kaiser alumni, and bringing hands-on arts experiences into recess time and classrooms.

The PFO provides a Fall and Spring series of After School Enrichment programs at each campus, which typically span 8-weeks of instruction and fun. Courses vary from session to session and can range from soccer and handball tournament clubs to Spanish lessons, arts, filmmaking, wacky science, cooking, gardening, yoga, photography… the list goes on, and on!

The annual Kaiser Play is also an enrichment effort made possible through the work of dedicated PFO volunteers, memberships and community support, offering students the opportunity to participate in a full-length stage play at a professional caliber.

Other special enrichment opportunities provided through the PFO include Kaiser's Red Ribbon Week, Woodland's Healthy Choices Week, the Bike Rodeo in conjunction with National "Bike to School Day", and Family Movie Night on the Woodland field.
